Now that the 22nd and final Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake has wrapped up, we look ahead toward the show’s new chapter in Denver. There will be change, and with that comes growing pains. We’ve been a Colorado based company since Condit started all the way back in the 40’s! We know the in’s and outs of exhibiting at the Colorado Convention Center and it’s not too early to get up to speed with differences you should expect between exhibiting in Salt Lake versus Denver.

Q – Wait, so how many shows will there be per year? And will they all be in Denver?
A – Emerald Expositions recently purchased the SIA Snow Show. So now there will be three OR shows each year. An OR Summer (July), OR winter (November), plus a “OR + Snow Show” in January. Yep, all in Denver! See below for 2018 dates for all three shows.
Q – Will my seniority for booth space change now that there’s a third show?
A – Nope! Seniority will be based on a show-by-show basis. For example, OR Winter doesn’t influence OR Summer. No extra brownie points for exhibiting at all three shows.
Q – The floorplan at Denver is definitely going to be different, when will I know what my space looks like?
A – Typically, Emerald releases the floorplan about 60 days prior to each show. They’re shooting to have the upcoming winter show floorplan by early November. We suggest adding flexibility into your booth design!
Q – Who are the show partners for contracting and housing? Will I get a hotel room???
A – The show contractor will still be Freeman, whew, no change there! EventSphere will be the new housing partner. There are many more hotel rooms within walking distance to the CO Convention Center than there were for the Salt Palace, so rest assured, you get your beauty rest.
Q – In Salt Lake they had outdoor pavilions? Will there be separate buildings like this in Denver?
A – Thankfully the CO Convention Center is big enough to house all booths under one roof. With the industry ever growing though, the leadership team does have some ideas for overflow space in coming years. Where is TBD.
