Collaborating with Feeney, Inc.
Feeney, Inc., founded in 1948 by Jim Feeney in Berkeley, California, began as a maritime rigging company supplying industrial wire rope. Today, it has evolved into a leading manufacturer of high-quality architectural products for both residential and commercial applications. The organization has been recognized for its innovative contributions to the railing industry, notably pioneering the original cable railing system.
Feeney partnered with Condit to create a custom rental exhibit that built their railing products right into the booth at the International Builders’ Show. The 30×40 double-deck island incorporated actual rails, rods, awnings, and more into the structure of the exhibit, prominently displaying these products while still adhering to a cohesive aesthetic presentation.
Goal
Brittney Morales, Digital Marketing Specialist at Feeney, summarized their goal, “Just like with any tradeshow we attend, our biggest goal is to always attain more leads and brand awareness. We planned on pursuing a new audience, in the Designer sector, this year at the show, and wanted our booth to reflect that. By implementing a new brand look, and a new booth layout, we achieved that goal and then some, gaining the most leads at one show that we have ever received. We not only showcased more products in one booth than we ever have, but also portrayed the world of design possibilities that you are able to achieve with our products.”
The International Builders’ Show (IBS) is collocated with the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS), and together, they are two of the biggest annual tradeshows in the U.S. for the residential design and construction industry. IBS, attended by builders, contractors, developers, architects, manufacturers, and suppliers, has more than 1,400 exhibitors. With a focus on home building, remodeling, and construction, the show covers everything from framing and roofing to windows, doors, HVAC, and project management tools.
Result
“Our vision for the IBS space was ‘Not Your Ordinary Railing System.’ We are a family-owned and operated company that has been around for 75 years, so we are proud to say we know a thing or two about high-quality railing systems. Not only are they safe and long lasting, but they are stylish and customizable as well, which makes us very different from our competitors. So, why not make that IBS booth stand out as well! By showcasing different infill types, railing colors, and separate spaces, we aimed to stand out from the crowd.”
Together, Condit and Feeney developed a 30×40 island space that included a double-deck with an elaborate showroom on the bottom floor and a plush meeting space in the upper area – complete with Feeney’s own railings and panels! The front of the exhibit featured vibrant, backlit signage and a townhouse-esque façade, showing Feeney’s products as they might appear in the “real world.” The booth included swatches, samples, and detailed hands-on product display throughout.
“Structurally with this booth, we were able to transport our visitors to the different places and spaces they could use our products. From the upstairs lounge area/deck, the downstairs interior Design Center, to the front of a home, with our founding year ‘1948’ displayed as the house numbers, the booth showcased perfectly how our products can easily transition from inside to out.”
Value
“Condit’s team was able to take our many, and sometimes outrageous, wants and needs and bring them to fruition. They took their expertise in the tradeshow industry and our product knowledge and designed and built a display that helped make this show a success.”
Feeney’s IBS space proved cozy and welcoming for visitors and attendees, and their DockRail system showcased at the event received a writeup in the LBM Journal’s 2025 Hot Products feature.
“We plan on continuing with the momentum from the Builders’ show, and the brainstorming has begun for next year’s show. We hope to make that just as successful.”
Condit’s custom rental exhibit solutions combine the flexibility of rental with the impact of a fully customized design as shown by Feeney’s expertly tailored space and their specific product offerings seamlessly included into each part of the exhibit. Condit rentals, including double-deck exhibit kits, are tailored to each brand’s needs, using modular systems and high-quality materials to create unique, eye-catching exhibits.
