Top Exhibit Opportunities Across Multiple Industries
August is traditionally considered a slower time for exhibit houses and for organizations participating in the tradeshow circuit. However, there are certainly quality events to exhibit and attend throughout the month, including:
- GBTA Convention (Global Business Travel Association)
- NY NOW
- MAGIC (Men’s Apparel Guild in California)
- Ag Progress Days
- GATS (Great American Trucking Show)
- VMworld (Virtual Machine)
These seven August tradeshows and conferences span a variety of industries and verticals, such as hospitality, retail merchandising, agriculture, and technology. An event from this list might be the perfect opportunity for your team to prospect, promote and network during the late summer season.
Typically held in early August, the Global Business Travel Association Convention is the largest annual gathering of travel professionals. Overarching conference themes include transportation, accommodations, meetings and events as well as related technology and management tools. With several hundred exhibiting companies and thousands of attendees from more than 50 countries, it is truly a world-class affair.
Sorted into three collections, HOME, LIFESTYLE and HANDMADE, NY NOW is the biggest wholesale event in the United States. Attended by retailers, designers, and brands, NY NOW occurs February and August each year, offering a wide range of products from housewares to fashion – crafted domestically and internationally.
MAGIC is organized by UBM Fashion, which seeks to unite today’s fashion talent with buyers and brands for business and collaboration. It is a premier gathering for the latest innovations in menswear, womenswear, footwear and children’s apparel. MAGIC incorporates the highest-end luxury brands through fast fashion up-and-comings.
Ag Progress Days is a three-day indoor/outdoor exposition at Pennsylvania State University’s Research Farms. Over 40,000 attendees enter free and experience educational sessions, machinery demonstrations, 80 acres of live crops, and more than 500 exhibits relating to farming and agriculture.
SuperZoo, often scheduled in late August’s dog days of summer, is a national event for pet retailers. Featuring a grooming competition and nearly 1,000 debut products, SuperZoo is a favorite of furry, feathered and scaled friends as the largest pet event in North America with history dating back to 1950.
The Great American Trucking Show is a fully interactive trucking exhibition. The industry gathering touts the latest in shipping, logistics, trucks, trailers and parts combined with an area of the conference specifically dedicated to fleet hiring and driver matching on site.
Topics explored within the walls of VMworld include networking, digital security, and cloud technology – all with a b2b focus. The conference, hosted by VMware, has a tradeshow exhibit hall as well as gaming areas, hands-on workshops, and expert panels to stimulate ideas and conversations about modern IT.
