Many times the hospitality events surrounding sports are just as important as the games themselves. However, to pull off a great event, you need a great structure. Condit is no stranger to the sports event industry and was selected to create a temporary structure for the 2018 College Football National Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, January 6th – 8th. The temporary structure was used as a hospitality and sponsorship activation space for the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live event in Centennial Olympic Park.
We worked closely with Solomon Group, the marketing agency responsible The Playlist Live Event, to construct a robust VIP hospitality environment. This three-day live music event would be broadcast around the nation, therefore Solomon Group needed a solution that exceeded the conventionality of a tent. Condit’s Premium Structure product was just the answer. We not only provided this elevated solution, but our design team created a custom, never-before-assembled configuration – the structure design was L-shaped, with two separated enclosures on the top floor with an open-air deck in the middle.
Design and planning began in the summer of 2017 with a three-week construction period before the event. Condit was responsible for constructing a 20,000-square foot, two-story temporary structure with branded interior spaces plus upper and lower-level exterior decking and a 1,200-person occupancy allowance.
The build-out for the structure included an HVAC system, two exterior valances, high-traffic compatible woodgrain vinyl flooring and custom fabricated column wraps. Color changing LED light bars were installed throughout the space as well as can lighting, seating, custom bars and catering stations.
Despite unfavorable weather persisting throughout the construction and event periods, the structure withstood heavy rains, sleet and snow, sub zero temperatures and ice. For this we installed last-minute additional heating. As another challenge during the event, we assisted with electrical rerouting and supported vendor logistics during a décor swap after day two.
Solomon Group sought Condit’s Premium Structure system to create an elevated event space. They valued their differentiation among the typical vinyl tents seen elsewhere at the venue. Condit was thrilled to work with Solomon Group and partnering vendors at such an esteemed event.
